Digital Labour Chowk (DLC) is Chhattisgarh’s tech driven platform dedicated to digitizing the traditional "Labour Chowk" ecosystem. Our mission is to provide a transparent, verified, and efficient bridge between India's blue-collar workforce and employers or contractors.

By replacing physical waiting areas with a virtual marketplace, we empower workers with digital identities, fair wage discovery, and direct access to job opportunities, while ensuring contractors can hire a reliable, verified workforce with speed and confidence.

We value your privacy and are committed to protect the personal data of our users. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information within the Digital Labour Chowk mobile application.

Information We Collect

To provide a functional and secure marketplace, we collect the following:

• Identity Information: Name, mobile number, and age.
• Government ID: We may collect government-issued ID details to verify workers for safety and transparency.
• Professional Details: Trade skills, daily wage expectations, and work availability.
• Location Data: We collect precise location data to connect workers with nearby employment opportunities. This may be collected in the background to ensure real-time job matching.
• Media Access: We may access your camera or gallery to allow you to upload a profile picture or verify identification documents.

How We Use Your Information

• Identity Verification: To ensure the authenticity of all users on the platform.
• Job Matching: To show workers relevant job openings in their immediate vicinity.
• Communication: To enable employers to contact workers for potential hiring.
• Public Welfare Tracking: As a project aimed at labour welfare, data may be used for social security benefit tracking and government policy planning.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. Sharing occurs only as follows:

• With Employers: A worker's name, skills, and contact number are shared with registered employers to facilitate hiring.
• With Government Authorities: Data may be shared with relevant government departments for labour welfare and compliance purposes.
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law.

Data Security

It will be a constant endeavor to protect the system from unauthorized access or unauthorized alterations, disclosure or destruction of information. In particular, all the information will be held in encrypted form and the communication channels for accessing the portal and transfer of data is encrypted using SSL as permissible under the law.

Data Deletion and User Rights (Google Play Compliance)

In compliance with the Google Play Store Data Deletion Policy, users have full control over their account data.

How to Request Deletion

Via Email: Send an email to com.labour-cg@gov.in, paramatma.sharan9@gmail.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request".

Data Processed for Deletion: Upon a valid request, we will remove all your personal information from the system so that it is not visible and/or accessible from any regular operation. However, certain data may be retained in an encrypted, non-identifiable format for a minimum period of 3 years to comply with statutory audit requirements and to prevent fraudulent activity. This data will be inaccessible for standard business operations.
